A private lesson with an ASPCA SAFER assessment plus temperament and drive evaluations, so our recommendation is based on evidence and not a guess.
We choose the techniques, the tools and the environment that set your team up for success from the moment we hit the ground.
Your prescription goes on your dog’s profile and you follow milestones, photos and videos through your own client portal.
Meet the founder
Alex is the founder of iDog Academy — and a husband, stepfather and father of two. He is a CCPDT-certified professional dog trainer and an AKC Canine Good Citizen Evaluator, with more certifications from service dog programs and rescues than are worth listing.
He began his professional career training bloodhounds for search and rescue in 2006, then spent the next nine years specializing in service dogs for disabled children and veterans. His problem-solving is what earned him the name.

There is no doubt that Alex and his company iDog Academy is the best dog boarding and training service in Miami and quite possibly Florida. They know their stuff!!! We couldn't be happier with the experience we had at iDog Academy with Alex and his incredible team of trainers. Our dog stayed for three weeks of boarding and training, and the level of professionalism, care, and communication exceeded every expectation. One of the things that stood out most was the constant updates and video footage they sent throughout our dog's stay. Being away from your dog for that long can be difficult, but Alex and his team made it so much easier by regularly sharing videos, training progress, and updates. It gave us tremendous peace of mind knowing exactly how our dog was doing every step of the way. The quality of training was outstanding. We had a fantastic experience with both the boarding and training program. Alex did an outstanding job with Ollie and took the time to help us understand how to reinforce the training at home. The improvement in behavior was noticeable right away, and it was clear that the training was tailored to our dog's needs. We couldn't be happier with our experience! Our dog Kane, has made incredible progress thanks to the patience, knowledge, and dedication of the trainers at iDog Academy. They took the time to understand our dog's personality and gave us clear, effective techniques that were easy to follow at home. Our facility is at 7070 SW 9th St, Ste 104, Miami, FL 33144, in Coral Terrace. We serve Miami, Coral Gables, Westchester, Doral, Kendall, Brickell and the surrounding areas.
Booking online charges a deposit that holds your spot. The balance is due at drop-off, after your free assessment confirms the right program and final price. Deposits are transferable if you need to reschedule with reasonable notice.
Alex Alvarez is certified through the CCPDT (Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers) and is an AKC Canine Good Citizen Evaluator, with additional certifications from service dog programs and rescues. Every team member is trained personally by Alex and holds pet CPR certification.
